Triggering a Relay Via an Input on a 8 Door Controller
1 min read
We were required to activate a sounder every time a door opened and turn off when the door was closed on a Challenger Plus system.
This is the way we completed the task, there are other ways to accomplish this behavior but this was the solution we went for with the inputs and relays available.
NAC – 8 Door Intelligent Controller
DGP 10 – Door 60 – 4 Sub DGP’s (4x 2 door Weigand DGP’s Connected)
Map Input and Relay so the Challenger control panel can see the Input and Relay
- Select the input number you are wiring into for monitoring the door’s open and close state, and the location the input is wired into – In this case we are using zone 3 on the Sub DGP 4 which makes it input number 327
- Select the relay number you are wiring into for the siren to activate and to follow the input state – sealed / unsealed(alarm)

MRS wired into zone 3 of 4th Weigand DGP (zone 327)

Siren connected to DGP 10 Relay 1 Onboard – (relay 161)

Now when you open the door the input will detect the door is open activating the even flag we created which will trigger the relay that controls the siren.
